About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cyber Security Risk Lead to join our team at the Met Office. As a key member of our Cyber Security Architecture and Supply Chain Cyber Security teams, you will play a critical role in identifying, understanding, and mitigating cyber-related risks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Autonomously undertake cyber risk management activities for projects, services, and third-party suppliers.
  • Lead the evaluation of business-supporting cyber security needs, undertake cyber security-related risk assessments, conduct threat modeling, and ensure activities are consistent with applicable regulations and legislation.
  • Provide advice to a range of stakeholders on how to remedy identified risks by proportionately applying security capabilities, using published guidance, standards, and drawing on a range of experts as well as personal expertise.
  • Provide expert cyber security advice that highlights cyber security-related risks, so service owners can make well-informed, and auditable decisions.
What We Offer

As our Cyber Security Risk Manager, you will receive a total reward package of up to £63,639 annually, which includes:

  • An outstanding Civil Service pension, with an average employer contribution of 27%.
  • Recruitment Retention Allowance (RRA) you will be paid £6,000 per annum as a market supplement to reflect the demand for your skills.
  • Annual Leave starting at 27.5 days (plus Bank Holidays) rising to 32.5 days (plus Bank Holidays) after 5 years and option to buy or sell up to 5 days per year of annual leave.
Requirements
