Position Summary:
We are seeking a Versatile Maintenance Technician to join our team. This role involves working a 42-hour week on a 4 on 4 off schedule, covering both day and night shifts. The primary responsibility of the Versatile Maintenance Technician is to ensure the optimal functioning of all machinery while actively pursuing and implementing innovative improvement strategies to enhance reliability and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Diagnose faults and conduct testing, repairs, and maintenance on machinery.
2. Observe, identify, and report any machinery or component defects or signs of potential failure.
3. Service, adjust, and repair machinery and equipment using appropriate tools safely and effectively.
4. Assess machinery and equipment conditions, performance, and propose actionable improvement plans.
5. Execute planned and preventative maintenance according to established schedules.
6. Interpret and apply technical service instructions related to machinery and equipment.
7. Participate in training programs provided by the company to enhance skill sets.
8. Utilize the CMMS stores system to accurately document parts usage.
9. Adhere to established stores systems.
10. Evaluate records and associated costs for repairs.
11. Order necessary replacement parts as required.
12. Collaborate with manufacturers of specialized machinery and equipment.
13. Support site initiatives for Quality, Health & Safety, Environmental Management, Engineering, and Autonomous Maintenance.
14. Employ and promote basic Continuous Improvement techniques such as 5WHY and Root Cause Analysis.
15. Contribute to departmental 5S programs.
16. Implement Reliability-Centered Maintenance techniques.
17. Assist with internal and external audits.
18. Effectively utilize the CMMS system to record information accurately.
19. Leverage CMMS historical data for improvement initiatives and fault trending to facilitate quick resolutions.

Qualifications and Skills:
- Completion of a recognized Engineering Apprenticeship.
- Education to ONC/HNC level or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical disciplines.
- Demonstrated experience in a maintenance environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Effective planning and organizational abilities.
- Capacity to make logical decisions to resolve potential issues.
- Positive attitude with a proactive approach.
- Ability to prioritize workload to meet operational and personal objectives.
