Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Science Technician to join our team at Derbyshire County Council. As a key member of our Scientific Studies faculty, you will be responsible for coordinating the delivery of technical and classroom assistance to ensure a safe working environment and effective support for teaching and learning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of Science Technicians to ensure the smooth operation of laboratory facilities and activities.
  • Develop and implement safe systems of work to minimize risks and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Prepare resources and materials to support teaching and learning, including lesson plans and equipment maintenance.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff to provide technical assistance and support in lessons.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working in a laboratory environment, with a strong understanding of safe systems of work.
  • Knowledge of the secondary school science curriculum and ability to support teaching and learning.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with staff and students.
