We are seeking a highly motivated PhD student to join our team at NPL and contribute to the development of scalable atomic quantum hardware.
The project focuses on overcoming challenges in achieving high fidelity coherent control and entanglement using trapped ions and neutral atoms.
As a PhD researcher, you will work closely with experimental teams at NPL and Strathclyde to address shared challenges in performing coherent control and state readout in a trapped-ion hardware platform.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Designing and implementing experiments to improve coherent control and entanglement
- Collaborating with experimental teams to develop and test new hardware platforms
- Contributing to the development of theoretical models to support experimental work
