About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to support the work of our clinical genetics team. As a Genomic Associate, you will play a crucial role in requesting family information and results to aid in the counselling of patients and their families.

Main Responsibilities

  • Support the clinical genetics team in requesting family information and results
  • Assist in the preparation of clinical data prior to patient attendance
  • Provide guidance and support for referring clinicians requesting whole genome sequencing
  • Ensure equity of access to information and risk assessment by identifying extra support for patients with language barriers or disabilities
  • Answer telephone and written correspondence

Requirements

  • Level 4 apprenticeship in healthcare science or equivalent
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and prioritize workload
  • Good awareness of own limitations and when to escalate issues
  • Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary team
