Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic pharmacist to join our antimicrobial team, to support the Trust's focus on effective and appropriate use of antimicrobials.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide patient-focused advice on drug treatments to clinicians on the wards and with Consultant Microbiologists.
  • Influence antimicrobial prescribing and usage, reducing antimicrobial resistance and improving patient outcomes.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, evaluation, and monitoring of anti-microbial policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to newsletters and help train Trust staff.
  • Promote the judicious use and monitoring of antimicrobials in the Trust as part of regular clinical pharmacy service to acute wards, and through mentorship of junior colleagues.

Requirements
  • Professional qualification - General Pharmaceutical Council registration.
  • Post-registration hospital experience.
  • Multidisciplinary team work.
  • Demonstrate evidence of good clinical knowledge and skills.
  • Microbial stewardship experience.
