Catering Manager Job Description

V-Recruit is seeking an experienced Catering Manager to join our team in partnership with a forward-thinking Multi-Academy Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the catering provision in one of their Scunthorpe-based secondary schools.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, prepare, and present food to meet quality, cost, and food and health and safety standards.
  • Develop and progress the catering provision to deliver healthy, high-quality meals that meet Nutritional Standards.
  • Supervise a team of cooks, catering staff, and breaktime supervisors, ensuring the academy's reputation for excellence in food and service is upheld.
  • Assist the Catering Directors in preparing the annual budget and achieving and maintaining food costs in accordance with the budget.
  • Conduct Food Safety and Health & Safety Risk Assessments and ensure all standards and procedures are established and maintained.
Requirements:
  • Level 2 qualifications in English and Maths, or equivalent.
  • Level 3 Food Hygiene qualifications.
  • Strong supervisory experience and excellent organisational skills.
  • Ability to plan while staying calm under pressure and demonstrate an analytical approach to problem-solving.
  • Financially and commercially astute, with a driving licence desirable for travel to alternative sites.
