Senior Horticultural Position

At National Garden Specialist, we are seeking an experienced and dedicated Head Gardener to join our team at a significant private estate in Ascot, Berkshire.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee garden maintenance and project management, ensuring the estate's gardens and grounds are well-maintained and visually stunning.
  • Manage a team of 13 gardeners, providing guidance and direction to ensure the highest standards of horticultural practice.
  • Develop and implement the annual garden budget, working closely with the estate accounts team.
  • Research and procure plants and materials for all areas of the estate, ensuring the highest quality and sustainability.
  • Collaborate with external partners and specialist consultants to enhance the estate's gardens and grounds.
  • Coordinate with the household team on internal floral displays and plant maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and best practices.
  • Provide regular updates and briefings to clients on garden developments and progress.

Requirements

  • 7-10 years' experience in a senior horticultural position at a private estate or public garden.
  • Comprehensive plant knowledge and woodland management experience.
  • Relevant horticultural qualifications and experience.
  • Operational knowledge and experience of garden machinery.
  • Intermediate level IT skills.

What We Offer

A competitive salary of £50,000 per annum, plus discretionary bonus, and accommodation provided.
