We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our team at The Highwayman. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for running the kitchen, driving the food culture, and keeping your team and our customers engaged with exciting new dishes.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and kitchen operations.
- Supervise and train junior kitchen staff to ensure high standards of food quality and presentation.
- Manage kitchen inventory, ordering, and stock control to minimize waste and optimize efficiency.
- Develop and implement new recipes and menu items to drive sales and customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef to create a positive and productive kitchen environment.
- Previous experience in a senior culinary role in a restaurant, gastro pub, or hotel.
- Strong leadership and communication skills to motivate and train junior staff.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings and weekends.
