Job Summary:
Thetford Academy is seeking an exceptional Assistant Head of Year to provide strategic leadership and support to our students and staff. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of delivering high-quality pastoral care and academic support, with a strong focus on student achievement and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide pastoral and behavioural support to students, working closely with teachers and other support staff to ensure students are equipped to succeed academically and personally.
- Lead the development and implementation of strategies to improve student outcomes, including attendance, behavior, and academic achievement.
- Collaborate with teachers and other staff to develop and deliver high-quality teaching and learning programs that meet the needs of all students.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of school policies and procedures related to student welfare and behavior.
- Work closely with parents and carers to ensure effective communication and collaboration in supporting student learning and well-being.
Requirements:
- GCSE English and Maths qualifications.
- Proven experience in a pastoral or leadership role, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality support and guidance to students.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a strong focus on student achievement and well-being.
