Role Overview:

Your contributions will be essential in monitoring and addressing security incidents, learning from seasoned SOC analysts, and enhancing the security posture of our organization’s digital resources.
Key Duties:
- Security Surveillance: Assist in overseeing network traffic, security events, and alerts utilizing various security tools and technologies to identify potential threats.
- Incident Management: Aid the SOC team in managing security incidents, which includes analyzing alerts, investigating suspicious activities, and escalating issues as required.
- Threat Analysis: Engage in the collection and evaluation of threat intelligence to remain informed about emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and attack methodologies.
- Security Tools Oversight: Learn to configure and maintain security tools and technologies utilized within the SOC, such as SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) systems.
- Documentation: Assist in the creation and updating of security incident reports, documenting findings, and maintaining precise records of all security-related activities.
- Team Collaboration: Collaborate closely with other IT and security teams to ensure effective communication and coordination during security incidents and investigations.
- Ongoing Development: Participate in continuous learning and development through training, certifications, and hands-on experience to establish a robust foundation in cybersecurity.
Candidate Profile:
- Interest in Cybersecurity: A strong passion for cybersecurity, coupled with a desire to learn and develop skills in this domain.
- Analytical Skills: Capability to analyze data, think critically, and approach challenges methodically.
- Detail-Oriented: A keen eye for detail to identify potential security threats and irregularities.
- Communication Proficiency: Strong verbal and written communication skills to document findings and interact effectively with team members.
- Collaborative Spirit: A willingness to work collaboratively as part of a team, demonstrating a proactive attitude toward learning.
- Basic IT Acumen: A foundational understanding of IT concepts, including networking, operating systems, and basic cybersecurity principles is beneficial but not mandatory.
Educational Requirements:
- Academic Background: GCSEs (or equivalent) in English, Mathematics, and IT. Further education in IT, Computer Science, or related fields is advantageous.
- Willingness to Learn: No prior professional experience is necessary, but a strong eagerness to learn and grow in a cybersecurity role is essential.
