Job Description

The Accounting and Reporting Manager plays a pivotal role within our Finance Department, contributing to the coordination among front, middle, and back office teams in relation to financial decisions within the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Set goals for the team and ensure all staff have performance contracts that align with Finance and team objectives.
  • Month-End Close Process: Manage all aspects of the month-end close process, including pre-month forecasting, the close itself, and subsequent review and validation activities.
  • Annual Audit Process: Manage all aspects of the annual audit process, ensuring timely completion and filing.
  • Financial Reporting and Analysis: Develop, improve, and implement control procedures and processes across the FR&A function. Maintain and strengthen the Financial Reporting and Analysis control structure to ensure compliant operations while upgrading the service offering.
  • Accounting Package Management: Ensure that the core accounting package (SAP) remains up to date and is developed to ensure efficient processes.
  • Annual Budgetary Process: Support the annual budgetary process.
  • Process Improvement: Actively identify system and/or process opportunities to streamline activity to drive efficiency without compromising control. Conduct the leading and management of the implementation of such enhancements be they to ETRM, SAP, or other FR&A-related systems.
  • Accounting Policy Ownership: Own the company Accounting Policy, ensuring the team has a good understanding of this and that stakeholders are aware and engaged with key points.
Requirements
  • Proven Experience: Proven demonstrable experience in a similar role in an energy or commodities trading environment, with a portion of that in line management.
  • Financial Knowledge: In-depth understanding of FRS.
  • Education: Degree in Finance/Banking/Commercial/Maritime Studies or equivalent.
  • Professional Qualification: Relevant professional accounting qualification preferred.

  • System Skills: Strong system skills and knowledge are essential.
