Hiscox Re & ILS is seeking an experienced Underwriter to join our team. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will be responsible for analyzing portfolios, developing relationships with brokers and clients, and attending client meetings.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Underwrite a portfolio of US accounts
  • Analyze market trends and identify new business opportunities
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers and clients
  • Prepare reinsurance quotes and analyze quarterly figures
  • Assist in identifying reserving levels required
  • Perform other underwriting duties as required

Requirements:

  • Industry-related certification or progress towards one
  • Minimum of 3 years underwriting experience, including Property Reinsurance lines
  • Proven track record of building and maintaining relationships with key clients and brokers
  • Experience using catastrophe models to price risk
  • Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work additional hours as required
