About the Role

MMA Offshore is seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer to join our team in Perth, Western Australia. As a Design Engineer, you will play a critical role in delivering innovative engineering solutions for our clients in the offshore energy sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement design solutions for offshore energy projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop marine and subsea equipment, including conceptual and detailed design, engineering calculations, and finite element analysis.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to manufacturing and test and assembly departments, ensuring that designs are feasible and cost-effective.
  • Work closely with clients and suppliers to ensure that design solutions meet their requirements and expectations.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide input on design improvements and optimization.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including reports, calculations, specifications, and assembly and test procedures.
Requirements
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in engineering design, preferably in the subsea technology and marine handling equipment sector.
  • Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, including structural mechanics and materials technology.
  • Experience with design for manufacture and cost-effective design processes.
  • Strong analytical skills, including finite element analysis and experience with engineering software such as Solidworks, Mathcad, and ANSYS Static Structural.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Working towards or already achieved Chartered Engineer Status (desirable).
