About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transportation Operations Manager to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our Operations team, you will be responsible for leading a team of associates in a cluster within the UK, with a focus on optimizing operations and engagement to drive performance and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Safety and Compliance: Safeguard your team's safety, promoting Amazon's Health and Safety standards, and ensuring compliance with all safety programs and regulations.
  2. Team Engagement and Motivation: Foster a culture of ownership and high performance among your team members, ensuring they are engaged and motivated to achieve their best.
  3. Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams to drive process improvements and optimize operations.
  4. Process Quality and Improvement: Uphold Amazon's high standards of process quality, striving to improve and streamline processes to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
  5. Subject Matter Expertise: Develop and maintain expertise on processes and activities, actively sharing and promoting best practices with colleagues and the wider network.
  6. Problem-Solving and Analytical Thinking: Apply analytical thinking to drive process improvements, finding practical and simple solutions to complex problems without sacrificing quality or core functionality.
  7. Communication and Stakeholder Management: Effectively communicate daily metrics and report exceptions to stakeholders, acting as the responsible and accountable person in respect of the Operator License (O License).
  8. Travel and Fleet Management: Require extensive travel within your cluster, ensuring fleet and driver compliance through active monitoring and reporting.

Transportation Associate Programme (TAP)

TAP is a Programme within EU Amazon Transportation Services (ATS), executing shunting and short-distance over-the-road driving with Amazon Associates drivers. Requirements
  • Transport Managers Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC): Hold a CPC National and International qualification.
  • Education and Experience: Possess a degree and relevant experience in leading a busy and large-scale transport operation within a growing and rapidly scaling business.
  • People Management and Data-Driven Decision Making: Have experience in people management and data-driven decision making, with a focus on performance metrics and process improvement.
  • Communication and Stakeholder Management: Possess advanced proficiency in written and verbal English, with experience in communicating with a wide range of stakeholders, including peers and leadership.
