The Moray Council is seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer to join our Consultancy Section. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise in delivering capital and revenue schemes for the Council, primarily relating to bridges and structures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and maintenance of bridges and structures
  • Road design and flood risk management
  • Statutory duties, including bridge and watercourse inspections
  • Providing technical expertise in delivering capital and revenue schemes
  • Communicating effectively with stakeholders and colleagues

Requirements

  • Civil and structure engineering related studies, design, supervision, and project management
  • Ensuring compliance with policies, statutory procedures, and other advice and guidance
  • Professional and personal development
  • Knowledge and awareness of construction methods and design procedures
  • Demonstratable post-graduate engineering experience
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent construction-related discipline
  • Good language analytical and numeracy skills
  • Adaptable and resourceful
  • Familiar with general-purpose software, such as word processing, databases, and spreadsheets
  • Track record of developing good relationships in teams
  • Experience of civil engineering and/or structural design
  • Knowledge of NEC forms of contract
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD

Working Conditions

You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Moray to meet the operational requirements of the Service. You will be required to work outdoors in challenging terrain and close to waterbodies.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary range: £32,950 - £45,100
  • 36.25 hours per week
  • £24.26 per hour
