We are seeking a skilled and experienced Theatre Practitioner to join our Obstetric Theatre Services team at South Warwickshire University NHS Foundation Trust.
Key Responsibilities- Provide skilled assistance and care to patients in the operating theatre, scrubbing for all maternity theatre cases and providing post-anaesthetic care.
- Assess care needs of the perioperative patient and develop, implement, and evaluate programmes of care, rectifying and adjusting to meet individual needs.
- Communicate effectively with the multidisciplinary team, patients, and relatives, ensuring that patients' perioperative needs are continually assessed and appropriate care is delivered and documented.
- Support the team within a given operating theatre/speciality, providing the appropriate clinical skills and advice, and ensuring that all resources, prostheses, and items required for surgery are available.
- Supervise the work of junior staff, ensuring quality and confidentiality are maintained, and manage the theatre department in the absence of senior staff.
- NMC/HCPC Registration
- Evidence of Continuous Professional Development
- Experience of theatres and Obstetric speciality in the perioperative setting, although new graduates will be considered
- Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients in the operating room/anaesthetic room/recovery as applicable to area of specialty
- Demonstrates knowledge of evidence-based practices
- Able to effectively plan and delegate duties
- Able to manage personal time and that of others effectively
- Demonstrates a good understanding and knowledge of basic theatre/nursing care
- Demonstrates a good understanding of the role responsibility and professional accountability
- Articulate and able to communicate effectively
- Is committed to and demonstrates ability to teach successfully
- Basic IT Skills
