Position Overview

As a Clinical Audiologist within the Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, you will be part of a dedicated team that is focused on fostering a culture of innovation, excellence, and patient-centered care. Key Responsibilities

The primary duties of this position include conducting diagnostic evaluations for all patient categories and providing comprehensive rehabilitation and maintenance services.

You will manage repair clinics, identify and resolve issues, complete necessary documentation to track actions taken, and consult with senior audiology staff as needed.

Additionally, you will perform Audiometry and Tympanometry assessments, including Acoustic Reflex threshold evaluations for both adult and pediatric populations.

Job Duties

- Conduct hearing aid repairs and maintenance while providing Aural Rehabilitation guidance for adult patients.

- Execute Audiometry and Tympanometry assessments, including Acoustic Reflex threshold measurements for both adults and children.

- Select, fit, and exchange hearing aids and ear molds for adult patients.

- Facilitate direct referrals from general practitioners for hearing aid patients.

- Perform advanced testing procedures under the supervision of senior staff initially.

- Maintain accurate records on Audiology and Trust-recognized systems.

- Ensure compliance with professional registration requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential Qualifications

  • BSc in Audiology, including a one-year clinical placement within the NHS, demonstrating clinical competence (or equivalent).
  • Registration with the relevant professional body or application in progress.

Knowledge & Experience Requirements

Essential

  • A minimum of one year of experience working or training in an NHS Audiology department.
  • Practical knowledge of utilizing relevant audiology management systems.
  • A solid understanding of best practices and procedures in diagnostics and rehabilitation.

Desirable

  • Experience in programming specific hearing aid brands.
