About the Role

Voluntary Service Aberdeen (VSA) is a well-established social care charity dedicated to providing high-quality support services to individuals and communities in Aberdeen. We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at Forestgait Lodge, a residential service providing housing support for adults with learning difficulties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide person-centred support to tenants, promoting independence and enabling them to maintain their tenancies.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop and implement individualized support plans, ensuring effective use of resources and adherence to VSA standards.
  • Support tenants with daily living tasks, including cooking, and assist with re-learning or maintaining skills necessary for remaining in their tenancy.
  • Take the lead in planning, monitoring, and reviewing service delivery plans to meet individual needs and preferences, within budgetary and funding constraints.
  • Oversee and participate in the maintenance of accurate recording systems and reports to meet agreed standards.
  • Comply with legislative requirements, including care standards, and recognize the impact on service provision.
  • Develop knowledge and practice continuously through participation in training and development activities.
  • Contribute to a safe and protective environment by adhering to health, safety, and security procedures.
Requirements
  • Experience of supporting people with autism is advantageous but not essential.
  • Good knowledge of homemade food is desirable.
  • Experience with learning disabilities is an advantage, but training will be provided.
