Position Overview

South Central Fleet Services Ltd is seeking skilled Ambulance Maintenance Specialists to enhance our dedicated team at our service facility. You will be responsible for the upkeep of vehicles utilized by South Central Ambulance Service.

In this pivotal role, you will ensure that emergency vehicles are consistently operational, playing a vital part in our commitment to patient care. Our workshop operates every day of the week, providing you with an opportunity to contribute significantly to our mission.

Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Conduct maintenance and repairs on ambulances and other vehicles to meet SCFS Ltd standards
  • Respond to breakdowns for on-site repairs, adhering to safety protocols
  • Prepare new vehicles for operational readiness and manage the disposal of outdated vehicles
  • Maintain accurate records of vehicle servicing and repairs
  • Prioritize health and safety, promptly reporting any hazards or incidents
  • Engage in training programs focused on vehicle maintenance and repair
  • Make independent repair decisions in the absence of supervisory staff
  • Participate in the Duty Mechanic standby rota
  • Contribute to revenue generation through relevant fleet maintenance tasks

Qualifications Required:

  • City and Guilds Motor Vehicle Craft studies parts 1, 2 & 3 or equivalent qualifications
  • Valid Full Driving Licence
  • Proven experience in vehicle maintenance and repair within a workshop environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
