About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Digital Colourist to join our team at Sanderson Design Group plc. as a Trainee Digital Colourist. As a key member of our Colouration team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of colour matching and quality control in our digital colouration process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Colour Matching and Quality Control: Maintain high standards of colour matching to customer preference while ensuring efficient production processes.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with design teams, area supervisors, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless workflow and meet production targets.
  • Process Improvement: Familiarize yourself with and follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) within the colouration area, and contribute to the development of new processes and procedures to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Sample Work and Colour Alteration: Carry out sample work as requested and demonstrate competency in altering colour in CAD and BULK situations.
  • Standards and Continuity: Create and maintain standards and continuities throughout the department, and ensure that all team members are aware of and adhere to these standards.
  • Process Understanding: Obtain a basic understanding of other processes throughout the digital area, and be able to communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Progress Updates and Workflow: Keep area supervisors up to date with work progress, and demonstrate good workflow throughout the area.
  • NCR Procedure and Prioritization: Understand and follow NCR procedure, and prioritize orders as requested.
  • Liaison and Communication: Liaise with customer services when required, and follow a planned structure to complete work to customer satisfaction.
  • Support and Training: Support and train others when needed on colouration processes, and support the digital team when and where required.
  • Housekeeping and Health and Safety: Maintain good standards of housekeeping, and work in accordance with all health and safety policies and procedures.
Requirements
  • Art and Design or Textiles Studies: Art and design or textiles studies or experience.
  • Maths and English: Minimum Grade C or equivalent in maths and English.
  • Computer Literacy: Computer literate with CAD/Photoshop experience.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills.
  • Software Systems: Knowledge of software systems.
  • Organisational Skills: Organisational skills and management of own time.
  • Team Player: Team player with excellent eye for colour and matching.
  • Attention to Detail: Excellent attention to detail.
