Desktop Support Technician Job Description

Henderson Scott is seeking a skilled Desktop Support Technician to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for providing top-notch technical support to our global office personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver exceptional desktop and remote support to our global office personnel.
  • Provide VIP user support to senior management, ensuring seamless service delivery.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to resolve complex and recurring issues.
  • Liaise with relevant teams to escalate support requests and ensure timely resolution.
  • Support the Desktop Team Lead and escalate support issues to the IT Support Manager as needed.
  • Administer Active Directory Users and Computers.
  • Provide Windows 10/11 support and maintenance.
  • Participate in ad-hoc support requests, desk moves, and desk-side support.
  • Support the business core hours 7am to 7pm rota basis (Mon-Fri) + out of hours where necessary.

Requirements:

  • Strong interpersonal and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work proactively and under pressure.
  • Good understanding of mobile devices, such as Apple smartphones and tablets.
  • Strong background in Microsoft Office and Windows.
  • Familiarity with web conferencing and collaboration tools, including Teams, Skype for Business, Zoom, and WhatsApp.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • IT industry experience.
  • Microsoft Windows 10+ and Windows Server 2008+.
  • Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Office 365, Mimecast, Skype for Business, SCCM, Citrix, and Citrix Director ITIL Best Practice.
  • Remote Support Tools and Incident, Problem, and Change Management.
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures.

Compliance and Regulatory Responsibilities:

  • Compliance with FCA requirements at all times.
  • Obtain necessary approvals to ensure compliance with company policy, procedures, and regulatory requirements/rules.
  • Maintain accurate records and deal with correspondence appropriately.

Personal Qualifications:

  • ITIL Foundation V4 certification.
