Resource Business Partner

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Resource Business Partner to join our team at Totum Partners. As a key member of our operations team, you will play a critical role in establishing and embedding a resource management function, driving strategic manpower planning, and optimizing the allocation of work and staff deployment to maximize profitability.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Resource Manager to set up and implement new processes, educate on best practices, and manage change.
  • Act as a trusted advisor on strategic manpower planning and resourcing, providing expert guidance to partners and senior fee earners.
  • Liaise with stakeholders to identify and scope future resourcing requirements, ensuring seamless delivery of projects.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize work allocation and staff deployment, driving business growth and profitability.
  • Support the implementation and embedding of ways of working and technology solutions to improve team efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Contribute to the lawyer recruitment process by advising on skill gaps and utilization trends, ensuring the best talent is attracted and retained.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in resource management, with a strong background in people management, ideally within a professional services environment.
  • Excellent influencing and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
  • Commercial acumen and operational business skills, with a focus on driving business growth and profitability.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, with a customer-focused approach and a commitment to delivering exceptional results.
