About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Credit and Risk Manager to join our team at Tandem. As a key member of our Risk and Compliance function, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effective management of credit risk across all Tandem lending products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the 2nd Line of Defence: Provide oversight of end-to-end credit risk activities, including the implementation of the Credit Risk Management Framework.
  • Drive Credit Committee Agenda: Support the Senior Credit Risk Manager in driving the credit committee agenda, ensuring adherence to policy and escalating risks/issues as appropriate.
  • Build Analytics: Develop credit risk appetite limits and build analytics to support credit risk decision-making.
  • Own Implementation of Credit Risk Assurance Plan: Implement and monitor the Bank's credit risk assurance plan, ensuring timely completion of tasks and delivery of high-quality results.
  • Monitor Progress: Regularly monitor progress against credit risk-related findings and provide feedback to stakeholders.
  • Technical Review: Conduct detailed technical reviews of credit performance and credit risk profiles of portfolios.
  • Review and Challenge Proposals: Review and challenge proposals from the Business (1st line) and provide feedback as part of credit committee governance.
  • Oversight and Monitoring: Oversee and monitor the performance of new originations and lead review and challenge of credit risk models.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues across 1st line credit risk and other areas of Risk to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Deputise for Senior Credit Risk Manager: Deputise for the Senior Credit Risk Manager on all Portfolio Credit Risk matters.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of Credit Risk Management Framework: A good knowledge of consumer credit risk management framework.
  • Understanding of Credit Risk Appetite: A good understanding of credit risk appetite, quality assurance, and control framework.
  • Analytical Mindset: An analytical mindset with the ability to use data to drive decision-making.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Strong Report Writing Skills: Strong report writing skills.
