Reed Public Sector is seeking a highly skilled Facilities Manager to oversee the day-to-day management and maintenance of the Council's property portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Compliance and Risk Management
    • Ensure all Council buildings and property remain compliant with the latest government regulations and industry standards for environmental, health, and security.
    • Implement and maintain effective health and safety protocols to ensure a safe and secure environment for all users.
  • Facilities Management
    • Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of all Council buildings, including routine and periodic tasks, cleaning contracts, and long-term maintenance planning.
    • Manage all building maintenance activities, including identifying and procuring suitable contractors and service providers.
  • Project Management
    • Develop and manage project specifications, tenders, and quotations for various projects, including identifying suitable contractors and service providers.
    • Collaborate with the Clerk and/or Deputy Clerk to manage all projects and make recommendations to the Council for approval.
  • Staff and Contractor Management
    • Proven experience of managing a range of staff effectively, including Front of House staff.
    • Proven experience of managing contractors and service providers.
  • Education and Qualifications
    • Hold or be working towards a facilities management or other relevant qualification.
    • Be computer literate and able to use basic office programs, including the council's booking system.
    • Hold a full driving license and be willing to drive Parish Council vehicles, including a van.
  • Professionalism and Experience
    • Demonstrate a clear understanding of and commitment to health and safety, with a willingness to undertake training to ensure effective delivery.
    • Proven experience of managing buildings, particularly those available for hire, and sports facilities.
    • Experience of carrying out a wide range of handyman duties, including decorating and minor maintenance works.
    Requirements
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Highly organized and able to prioritize tasks effectively.
