Learning Support Assistant Job Description

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Assistant to work across primary and secondary schools in Southend-on-Sea. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students in their learning journey, following the curriculum and syllabus, and preparing lessons tailored to their needs in line with the Key Stages.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist students in both primary and secondary schools according to the curriculum and Key Stages.
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support in classrooms.
  • Help students with SEND needs in achieving their academic goals.
  • Prepare and deliver tailored lessons in accordance with the Key Stages.
  • Foster a positive, supportive learning environment for all students.
Requirements:
  • CACHE Level 2 or 3, or NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Childcare or Education.
  • Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant or in a similar role.
  • Experience working with SEND students.
  • Ability to support lessons according to the Key Stages in both primary and secondary settings.
  • Commitment to enhancing students' learning experience.
