About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operational Work Area Manager to join our team at the Chelmsford Mail Centre. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing a dedicated team of 25 full and part-time employees, leading regular one-to-one and team meetings, and reviewing area performance and plans on a daily basis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and support a large team to maximise performance and achieve operational targets.
  • Develop and implement health and safety initiatives, increase efficiency, and identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide a high-quality service to our customers and work closely with the Shift Manager to ensure all operational targets are met.
  • Build effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders to achieve business benefits.

Requirements

  • Proven experience of managing and supporting a large team to achieve high performance.
  • Excellent people skills, good communication skills, and the ability to engage and motivate team members.
  • Target-focused with a track record of improving performance and achieving KPIs.
  • Experience of introducing change and successfully leading people through change.
  • Data analysis and problem-solving skills, with the ability to use data to identify trends in performance and develop solutions.
