About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil Engineer to join our team at Tractebel Engineering S.p.A. as a Civil Engineer Designer. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and constructing nuclear power plants, with a focus on reinforced concrete structures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyzing input data from clients and investigating previous calculations
  • Performing structural calculations on ANSYS software
  • Preparing or updating associated reports
  • Responding to civil works contractor's queries related to design packages
  • Analyzing Request For Information (RFI) and providing clarification to the site
  • Analyzing Field Change Requests (FCR) from the site and assessing their feasibility
  • Analyzing Non-Conformance Report (NCR) from the civil works contractor and assessing the proposed repair solution or proposing additional measures
  • Providing quick assessment on reinforcement concrete issues (hand calculations)
  • Performing or adapting Ansys Finite Element Models (FEM) in response to FCR and NCR
Requirements
  • MEng in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Working towards either the ICE or the IStructE
  • Experience in the use of Ansys or equivalent structural FEM software
  • Experience in reinforced concrete calculation and design
  • Experience in nuclear or complex industrial projects
  • Working familiarity with relevant technical Codes of Practice and industry Standards (ETC-C, Eurocodes and British Standard)
  • Proficient in using MS Office Suite, Excel and Word especially
  • Programming skills in one or several languages are a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proactive individual who can work collaboratively within a multicultural team
  • Agile and self-motivated towards improving personal performance and able to generate innovative outcomes to challenges
  • Ability to work to deadlines
