Role Overview:
The Plant Supervisor plays a critical role in overseeing the operations of the concrete batching facility. This position involves collaboration with the Relief Plant Supervisor and the District Operations Manager to ensure compliance with company policies regarding Health & Safety, Environmental standards, and Quality Assurance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence to Health & Safety protocols and environmental regulations.
- Manage customer service by ensuring the quality of concrete batching through established processes.
- Oversee material handling, including stock management within the batching system.
- Conduct regular maintenance checks and housekeeping to maintain equipment and report any defects.
- Maintain compliance with the company's code of conduct and operational policies.
Accountabilities:
As a Plant Supervisor, you will be responsible for:
- Implementing Heidelberg Materials' Health & Safety procedures to guarantee a safe working environment.
- Accurately batching concrete according to approved systems and procedures.
- Ensuring adequate stock levels of approved materials to meet production demands.
- Handling customer inquiries and orders with professionalism.
- Coordinating with contractors and office staff to fulfill customer requirements for concrete production.
- Managing waste disposal, water discharge, and dust emissions in line with environmental policies.
- Operating the batching plant to meet the standards set by Heidelberg Materials while maintaining site presentation.
- Inspecting incoming raw materials and performing weekly stock reconciliations.
- Conducting routine maintenance inspections and ensuring compliance with maintenance schedules.
- Reporting any incidents that may impact health & safety, environmental integrity, product quality, or service delivery.
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and secure site at all times.
- Fostering positive relationships with third parties and contractors.
- Performing additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
While prior experience is beneficial, it is not mandatory as comprehensive training will be provided. Strong communication skills are essential.
