We are seeking a dedicated Mathematics Educator to bring expertise and high standards to the educational environment, ensuring an exceptional learning experience and outcomes in GCSE and Functional Skills Mathematics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Exhibit a comprehensive and current understanding of diverse teaching, learning, and assessment methodologies, utilizing them to create opportunities for all students.
  • Actively foster an inclusive atmosphere that values equality, embraces cultural and academic diversity, and supports the participation of students with varying abilities, including those with special educational needs.
  • Continuously assess and engage with students during lessons to facilitate effective learning and maintain a supportive environment.
  • Evaluate student performance in alignment with the institution's English and Mathematics Strategy and relevant assessment criteria, using historical achievement data to enhance student progress.
  • Systematically document student progress, maintaining accurate records to monitor completion of work, identify strengths and weaknesses, inform instructional planning, and recognize achievement levels.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of course content.
  • Design and update curriculum plans, lesson outlines, and related instructional materials.
  • Engage in staff evaluation and performance management processes, identifying and addressing training needs for oneself and colleagues.
  • Adhere to all institutional policies and procedures.

Qualifications:
Teaching Qualification (PGCE, Diploma in Education and Training (DET) or equivalent, e.g., Foundation Degree, etc.)
A commitment to ongoing professional development (which can be demonstrated)

Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, a qualification one level above the level being taught, in a relevant subject area.

English and Mathematics at Level 2 (GCSE / O Level, Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent upon appointment or willingness to achieve within an agreed timeframe.
Experience in teaching GCSE and/or Functional Skills Mathematics.
A proven history of effective teaching, assessment, and contributions to curriculum design in GCSE and/or Functional Skills Mathematics.
Experience in utilizing educational technologies, Individual Learning Plans (ILPs), tracking processes, and monitoring systems to support and guide learners towards progress and achievement.
A commitment to reflective practice, professional growth, and performance enhancement.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, to ensure effective management of programs, learners, and educational resources.
Ability to collaborate with management and/or teaching teams to address challenges and make informed decisions.
Proficient IT and data analysis skills to effectively utilize institutional reporting and tracking systems.
Demonstrate robust subject and curriculum knowledge in GCSE Mathematics.
