As a Financial Accountant (Senior Associate) at Kainos, your role will encompass a broad spectrum of responsibilities, including supporting Finance Managers and the Group Head of Finance in overseeing all facets of the Finance department, particularly during monthly and annual reporting cycles.
The primary responsibilities for this position include:
Preparation of Management Accounts: Assist in generating monthly management accounts, focusing on nominal ledger reconciliations and intercompany reconciliations. Analyze accounts and conduct reviews of Trial Balances, ensuring accuracy and timely completion within month-end deadlines. Journal Processing: Manage salary journals and ensure accurate recharge of salary costs to relevant projects. Prepare and post reallocations and batch uploads. Business Partnership: Deliver P&L reports versus budget for designated cost centers, along with expenditure analysis and trend reports. Statutory Accounts Preparation: Aid in the preparation of annual statutory accounts for the Group and its subsidiaries, collaborating with the audit team to meet deadlines. Treasury Management: Oversee payment processing and assist with bank reconciliations as needed, including cash flow forecasting. Project Involvement: Participate in various projects, such as preparing R&D tax credit claims and assisting with grant claims, while liaising with tax advisors for submissions. Additional Support: Provide assistance across the Finance team as necessary (e.g., Accounts Payable, Credit Control, Cash) and collaborate with other departments within Kainos.Essential Qualifications:
ACA/CIMA qualified (or equivalent) preferred. Experience with foreign currencies (e.g., Euro, Polish Zloty, US Dollar). Strong commercial awareness and understanding of project dynamics. Proven ability to manage workloads efficiently in a fast-paced environment, maintaining high accuracy and attention to detail. Capacity to identify process improvements and drive continuous enhancements. Experience in mentoring and guiding team members towards achieving shared objectives. Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction with staff and external stakeholders. Strong teamwork skills, including the ability to take direction from others. Ability to make informed decisions under pressure, balancing customer needs with organizational requirements. Familiarity with Workday or similar accounting software. Intermediate Excel skills and proficiency in other Microsoft Office applications. Flexibility to work varied hours during peak periods.Desirable Attributes:
