We are seeking a highly skilled Bid Manager to join our team at VINCI Building. As a key member of our business development team, you will be responsible for leading the bid process for complex projects across various sectors, including Public Sector, Education, Leisure, Commercial, and Healthcare.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record of delivering successful bids, leading internal teams, and producing high-quality responses that meet and exceed customer expectations.
You will work closely with our Framework Manager to develop and implement a winning bid strategy, managing the tender, bid, and negotiation processes from a deliverability/buildability perspective.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and agree bid strategy with senior management to secure profitable orders.
- Coordinate resources with technical and support departments to complete bids and secure projects.
- Manage the full process, including relationship building with clients, achieving preferred bidder status, and bringing projects to contract close.
- Understand and challenge technical documents relating to design, build, legal, and financial aspects to maximise opportunities.
- Deliver the bid strategy, including solution development, writing bid text, costing, and cost model review.
- Manage negotiations and commercial discussions through all stages of the process to commercial close.
Requirements:
- Proven bid management skills, ideally within a Tier 1 contractor environment.
- Strong analytical and financial management skills.
- Exceptional leadership skills, excellent time management skills, and communication skills.
- A technical understanding of complex construction schemes.
- Experience of delivering outstanding customer and stakeholder service and management.
- A construction-related degree.
- CIOB membership or equivalent.
- Experience in writing/managing bids and working on bids in various construction sectors.
