About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic registered nurse to join our Bowel Cancer Screening Department as a Specialist Screening Practitioner (SSP). This is a substantive 37.5-hour Band 6 role that offers an ideal opportunity for those who would like to develop a career as an SSP.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitate the patient journey for those referred to the Centre with a positive FIT test
  • Give patients the required information to enable them to make appropriate choices for investigation
  • Carry out health assessments either in a clinical setting
  • Prepare and attend Bowel Cancer Screening endoscopy lists
  • Follow up of the patient episode post procedure
Requirements
  • Essential requirement is to attend the Bowel Cancer Screening Specialist Practitioner course
  • Good IT and organisational skills
  • Ability to communicate with both patients and the wider multi-disciplinary team
