Exciting Opportunity for a Veterinary Surgeon

We are seeking a talented Veterinary Surgeon to join our friendly Small Animal Practice. As a Veterinary Surgeon, you will have a mix of consults and surgery, allowing you to have the best of both worlds. We encourage case continuity, recognizing the rewards of developing the client/pet/vet bond. We also support career development, so if you wish to pursue a specialism or certificate, we would be delighted to discuss this with you.

Work Environment
  • 40 hours per week, spread over 4 days with a mix of early and late shifts (latest finish is 7pm)
  • 1:5 share in the Saturday rota (finishing at 2pm)
  • No OOH or Bank Holidays

Our practices are equipped with digital x-ray, dental x-ray, in-house haematology and biochemistry, including SDMA, T4, and other extended panels. We also have ultrasound, laser therapy, cautery, multi-parameters, and bair huggers. Our waiting areas are separate for dogs and cats, and we are an ISFM silver cat-friendly clinic at our Chester le Street site, with plans to achieve this at our Durham surgery.

  • 9 experienced Veterinary Surgeons
  • 12 RVNs, 1 SVN, and 5 VCAs
