Job Summary

Principal Mechanical Engineer - Mechanical Building Services

This is a challenging and rewarding role for a skilled Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Morson Talent. As a key member of our Mechanical Building Services team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality technical services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure an understanding of project briefs and requirements
  • Design and specify all Mechanical Building Services systems, including heating, cooling, hot and cold water systems, ventilation, controls, etc.
  • Collaborate with our BIM team to prepare models and drawings, with a working understanding of Autodesk Revit
  • Prepare technical specifications using NBS and industry-standard software tools
  • Carry out and manage the production of detailed calculations using Excel, IES, Hevacomp, and in-house developed tools
  • Take charge of project deliverables, make decisions, and operate in a proactive way
Requirements
  • Degree-qualified or equivalent qualification
  • Familiarity with the principles of building physics, including passive design solutions and fabric first approaches
  • Competent in designing for measurement and verification, including experience of commissioning and post-installation evaluation of performance
  • Able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) / Security Check (SC) security clearance
