The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Paralegal to join our Legal team in Maidenhead, working closely with our Europe Region businesses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the business in achieving objectives by communicating legal advice and managing risks to the corporation.
  • Perform substantive legal work, identifying complex legal issues and proposing alternative solutions.
  • Manage the Legal Intake System, triaging work to Counsels and tracking metrics.
  • Resolve routine and complex legal matters on projects involving multiple disciplines and functional areas.
  • Provide independent analysis and propose solutions to Counsels.
  • Assist in drafting and reviewing commercial and supplier contracts.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of Abbott's business, products, markets, and competitors.
  • Educate clients on contracting basics and self-service templates.
  • Assist in managing external counsel across Europe.
  • Review databases for new laws relevant to Europe.

Required Qualifications

  • Law degree or equivalent experience.
  • Prior experience as a paralegal in private practice or in-house.
  • Demonstrated experience with standard commercial contracting.
  • Expertise in Microsoft Office products and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Strong process and analytical skills.
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
