Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Support Assistant to join our team at Aberdeen City Council. As a Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the learning and development of our pupils, working closely with teachers and other support staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized support to pupils with additional support needs, including those with physical, sensory, or learning disabilities.
- Assist teachers with lesson planning, preparation, and delivery, ensuring that pupils receive the support they need to access the curriculum.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues, promoting a culture of respect, empathy, and understanding.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of individualized education plans, ensuring that pupils' needs are met and their progress is monitored.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and other professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements:
- Hold a minimum of a National Qualification in Education Support or equivalent.
- Have experience working with children or young people, preferably in an educational setting.
- Be able to communicate effectively with pupils, parents, and colleagues, both verbally and in writing.
- Be able to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
