About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Laboratory Technician to join our team at Nikwax, a leading outdoor business based in East Sussex. As a Laboratory Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and performance of our products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough testing and experimentation to validate product performance and quality.
  • Develop and implement industrial processes to improve product development and manufacturing efficiency.
  • Enforce Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) and adhere to COSHH regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with the innovation team to develop new products and materials.
  • Ensure the laboratory is well-stocked and equipped with the necessary tools and equipment.
  • Conduct routine checks and competitor testing to maintain our position as industry leaders.
  • Be responsible for plant and lab equipment, ensuring they are in top condition and performing optimally.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest chemical trends and industry innovations to drive business growth.
Requirements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a meticulous and systematic approach to work.
  • Experience in a lab environment, with a good understanding of GLP and COSHH regulations.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to juggle multiple tasks and prioritize deadlines.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in standard computer software packages, including Microsoft Office.
  • Quality Control is a key aspect of this role, with a strong understanding of quality control principles and practices.
  • Relevant education, with a minimum of GCSE level (or equivalent) in Maths, English, and Sciences.
