Position Overview

As a key member of the Gardening team at HC-One, you will be responsible for performing various horticultural tasks at our Care Homes, ensuring that the gardens and outdoor areas are maintained to the highest standards. Your efforts will contribute to HC-One's mission of being the preferred Care Home in the community.

Your role will require adaptability and responsiveness to the evolving needs of the Homes.


Key Responsibilities

In your capacity as a Landscape Care Specialist, you will:

  • Manage general gardening tasks, including planting seasonal flowers, mowing lawns, pruning shrubs, watering hanging baskets, removing weeds, and keeping pathways and driveways tidy.
  • Oversee the upkeep of gardening equipment and tools, performing necessary checks and maintenance as outlined by HC-One.
  • Handle the painting and maintenance of external fences and garden furniture, ensuring they are in good repair.
  • Collaborate closely with the estates team to assist with salt gritting and snow removal as needed.

Qualifications

HC-One seeks a Landscape Care Specialist who is knowledgeable about and committed to implementing the Care Home's Health and Safety policies, as well as Emergency and Fire procedures.

You will be expected to complete both mandatory and specialized training relevant to your role, whether on-site or off-site, to enhance your professional skills and knowledge.

Effective communication and engagement with Residents, the Home Manager, colleagues, and visitors are essential.


Additional Information

This full-time position involves travel across multiple care homes, and a company vehicle will be provided.

Safeguarding is a critical responsibility, and you must be able to identify signs of potential abuse, harm, or neglect and know the appropriate actions to take if concerns arise.

All staff members are required to participate in safeguarding training relevant to their roles and pursue additional training in related areas.
