About the Role

The Chief Instructor is a key member of our Training Centre staff, responsible for delivering high-quality training to our cadets and volunteers. This is a full-time position that requires regular evening and weekend working, as well as frequent travel to other organisation's facilities and our National Support Centre in London.

Key Responsibilities
  • Organise and deliver face-to-face training sessions for cadets and volunteers
  • Supervise the delivery of courses by others, ensuring adherence to National Governing Body standards and regulations
  • Assist the Centre Manager in ensuring the safe conduct of activities at the facility, and that all sessional instructors or volunteers are appropriately briefed, qualified, and trained
  • Manage the use, allocation, and maintenance of equipment and resources
  • Assist with administrative duties, including issuing certificates, updating records, and coordinating facility bookings
  • Conduct general maintenance of the facilities and ensure the safe and effective use of equipment and resources
Requirements
  • RYA Senior Dinghy Instructor qualification
  • RYA Powerboat Instructor qualification
  • Experience teaching in a classroom-based environment
  • Ability to plan, organise, and supervise the delivery of training
