We are seeking a highly skilled Sous Chef to join our team at BAM Construct & Ventures UK. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional food service, managing kitchen operations, and supporting the Executive Chef in achieving our business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook high-quality meals in accordance with agreed menus and recipes
- Manage food delivery, inventory, and storage to minimize waste and ensure food safety
- Adhere to current HACCP and food safety regulations and procedures
- Lead by example, promoting a culture of cleanliness, safety, and teamwork in the kitchen
- Assist in menu planning, costing, and development to meet customer needs and business objectives
- Collaborate with the Executive Chef and other team members to achieve financial targets and improve operational efficiency
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements to ensure continuous improvement
Requirements:
- Experience working as a Chef Manager in high-volume catering, preferably in the education sector or contract catering
- Food Safety Hygiene (Level 3) Certificate or equivalent
- NVQ Level 2 in Hospitality or equivalent
- Excellent literacy, numeracy, and ICT skills
- Ability to use relevant catering equipment and train staff on its use
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures, COSHH regulations, and health and hygiene practices
- Excellent organizational, presentation, communication, team building, and interpersonal skills
