Job Title: HVAC/Mechanical Technical Support Engineer

Location: Shrewsbury

Department: Facilities management

Salary: £38,000 - £43,000 and car allowance

Hours: Full Time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8am - 5pm

Job Purpose: As a key member of our team, you will provide technical support to engineers, staff, and clients surrounding all aspects of HVAC and Mechanical works carried out in a client-focused setting. Your expertise will ensure work standards meet and exceed regulatory guidelines, supporting the continued growth and expansion of our business unit.

  1. Offer expert technical advice and support on HVAC and mechanical issues.
  2. Conduct audits on subcontractors and field engineers to ensure compliance with standards.
  3. Participate in client meetings, provide quotations, and oversee project planning.
  4. Assist in recruitment, onboarding, and continuous development of engineering staff.
  5. Travel to various UK sites for on-site support and technical assessments.
  6. Support the management of subcontractor relationships through appointments and audits.

Qualifications:

  1. Minimum of 5 years' experience in HVAC/Mechanical systems installation and maintenance.
  2. Full UK Driving Licence.
  3. Relevant trade qualifications and manufacturer-specific training in HVAC systems.
  4. Certifications in HVAC, heat pumps, and refrigeration.
  5. Experience in building services including electrical, gas, and fire alarm systems.

  1. Proficient in MS Office with strong IT literacy.
  2. Commercial acumen with an understanding of business operations.
  3. Ability to travel and provide out-of-hours support when necessary.

  1. Timely submission of quotes, aiming for 90% within 7 days.
  2. Conduct regular audits for certification and subcontractor performance.
