About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Credit Controller to join our team at STARK Building Materials UK Ltd. As a Credit Controller, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our sales ledger and credit control functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the effective management of our sales ledger and credit control processes to minimize bad debts and reduce Daily Sales Outstanding (DSO).
  • Proactively target delinquent accounts for timely collection of cash in line with company cash and overdue debt targets.
  • Manage and mitigate the risk relating to customer credit limits in line with company procedures.
  • Provide exceptional levels of customer service to internal and external customers.
  • Maximize sales opportunities within a defined customer base by effectively managing credit limits.
  • Follow up quickly and effectively any short payments made by customers.
  • Address and update all stop maintenance and over trading issues in accordance with Company policy and procedures.
  • Contribute to the handling of all incoming and outgoing calls to ensure they are dealt with in a professional manner and meet agreed Company targets.
  • Undertake administrative duties as appropriate and ensure the system is updated accordingly.
  • Maintain and monitor the customer query database to ensure queries are addressed and resolved efficiently and effectively.

Requirements
  • Previous credit control, sales ledger or finance experience preferred but not essential.
  • Experience in a customer-facing environment.
  • Theoretical Accounting experience from studies would be advantageous.
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills.
