Electrical Control Systems Engineer Job Description

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Electrical Control Systems Engineer to join our team at Realise Recruitment Ltd. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the implementation of control logic to the CAPEX Washline Project, leading the commissioning of the project, and ensuring compliance with health and safety practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Manage the implementation of control logic to the CAPEX Washline Project.
  2. Lead the commissioning of the project, working closely with the Engineering, Quality, and Operations teams.
  3. Ensure compliance with health and safety practices across all IMET Alloys sites.
  4. Communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues, suppliers, and customers.
  5. Liaise with internal and external suppliers and contacts.
  6. Implement new policies and procedures as required.
  7. Have an active role in occupational safety and health of employees, enforcing safe working practices and the use of personal protective equipment.
Requirements:

Qualifications: Degree in Electrical Control / Systems Engineering (or equivalent). Incorporated or Chartered engineer in Electrical Control / Systems Engineering (or equivalent) (desired but not essential).

Experience: Minimum 5-10 years experience in similar electrical control / systems engineering. Extensive experience in PLC programming, Logic Control, HMI Interfacing Software, Script Writing, and debugging. Siemens and Allen Bradley control systems experience desirable.

Language Skills: Fluent in English and French (spoken and written) (desired but not essential).

Software Skills: Proficient in use of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams).

Working Environment:

The role will be based in Livingston with a view to extended periods in France initially. The ideal candidate should be able to interpret, understand, and compile engineering drawings, schematics, and PFDs.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the implementation of control logic to the CAPEX Washline Project, leading the commissioning of the project, and ensuring compliance with health and safety practices.

The role requires a dynamic and passionate Engineer with around 5-10 years experience in electrical control / systems engineering, with a strong background in PLC programming, Logic Control, HMI Interfacing Software, Script Writing, and debugging.

The ideal candidate should be able to work effectively in a team environment, communicate clearly and effectively, and have a positive and hands-on approach to all tasks.
