About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our team at a popular gastro pub in Winchester. As a key member of the kitchen team, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in managing all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and supervising kitchen staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and supervising kitchen staff.
  • Develop and implement innovative menu ideas that can be fulfilled in a relatively small kitchen.
  • Work closely with the Head Chef to ensure seamless kitchen operations and high-quality food standards.
  • Supervise and train kitchen staff to ensure they are working efficiently and effectively.
  • Contribute to the development of the kitchen team and help to create a positive and productive work environment.
Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef in a similar environment.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Ability to think creatively and develop innovative menu ideas.
