Aeropeople Ltd is collaborating with a leading Aerospace Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) that is seeking to recruit a Senior Avionics Systems Specialist to enhance their engineering team. This position offers a blend of remote work and on-site responsibilities.

The organization is pioneering the development of its inaugural production aircraft, which aims to achieve a significant reduction in carbon emissions, with a vision for zero emissions in the near future. This innovative aircraft is designed to accommodate a substantial number of passengers or cargo, setting a new standard in the aviation industry.

The Systems Engineering, Electrical & Avionics division is responsible for all aspects related to systems engineering, electrical systems, and avionics integration. The team’s duties encompass the development of vehicle system architecture, requirements management, and the integration of electrical and avionics systems.

This role offers a remarkable opportunity to engage in the design and development of aircraft avionics systems, from initial requirements gathering to system testing and validation. It is a hands-on engineering position that involves contributing to the creation of a new avionics team and the development of a state-of-the-art airframe.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Head of Systems Engineering to leverage your extensive design experience, from conceptualization to detailed design, to define and manage activities supporting aircraft electrical and avionics design.
  • Avionics Systems Design and Development: Lead the design of Electronic Flight Instrument Systems, Flight Management Systems, and Communication, Navigation, and Identification systems, ensuring the technical success of the avionics program.
  • Specification Development: Create Interface Control Documents, manage supplier engineering, select equipment, and produce wiring schematics, test procedures, and validation activities, ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • New Airframe Development: Work closely with the Programmes team to provide input into Statements of Work and support vehicle system testing.
  • Flight Test Planning: Collaborate with Engineering and other departments to analyze results and support decision-making for future flight test planning and aircraft development.
  • Team Leadership: As the team grows, you will be responsible for guiding and developing your team, fostering their professional growth and well-being.

Candidate Profile:

  • Educational background in engineering, with a degree or equivalent qualifications.
  • Demonstrated experience in the Aerospace sector, particularly in Flight Deck Avionics.
  • Ability to produce clear and precise technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with the ARP4754 lifecycle from concept to production.
  • Understanding of CAA/EASA/FAA certification processes.
  • Experience in team building and leadership is preferred.
  • Proficiency in producing 2D and 3D designs for electrical wiring diagrams is a plus.
