Position Title: English Language Teacher

Location: Dorset

Salary: £30,000 - £44,870 per annum

Contract Type: Full-time, Permanent

Teaching Personnel's Permanent Workforce Team is collaborating with a national SEN Trust to identify a qualified Secondary English Teacher in the Dorset region. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching students from Entry Level 2 to GCSE English, particularly those with special educational needs such as ASC/SEMH, including autism and specific learning difficulties like Dyslexia. Early Career Teachers (ECTs) are encouraged to consider this opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the development and delivery of the curriculum, ensuring it meets the educational, physical, and social needs of students.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Utilize short, medium, and long-term planning to facilitate curriculum delivery.
  • Establish, monitor, and review personalized learning targets for each student.
  • Assess, monitor, and report on student progress to parents, team members, and senior staff in accordance with school policies.
  • Engage in continuous professional development through training and research.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Possession of a PGCE, QTS, or equivalent teaching qualification, along with evidence of relevant in-service training.
  • Proven ability to teach English up to GCSE level.
  • Relevant experience and knowledge of working with students with ASD, SEMH, and PDA profiles.
  • Understanding of safeguarding principles and child protection protocols.
  • Experience in managing diverse behavioral approaches, including those that may be challenging.
