Job Summary

The Lead Technician - ROV Systems will be responsible for carrying out maintenance and refurbishment activities on ROV systems and associated tooling packages in the Oceaneering workshop. This role will also involve providing guidance to workshop technicians, operations planners, and project teams as required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out maintenance, mobilization, demobilization, periodic, and in-storage activities on company-owned equipment
  • Ensure all work is performed to conform to company operating and maintenance standards and in accordance with current legislation
  • Update equipment maintenance systems to record details of all repairs and maintenance of company-owned equipment
  • Liaise with onshore supervisors to ensure equipment, parts, and consumables are available for a "clean to start" methodology
  • Identify changes in work scope, potential impact on schedule, and report to onshore supervisors
  • Ensure safety policies and procedures are understood and adhered to in order to ensure a safe working environment
  • Participate in daily toolbox talks for the workshop group
  • Conduct STOP audits on a regular basis
  • Participate in incident investigations when required
  • Lead the review and creation of Risk Assessments and JSEA
  • Ensure Risk Assessments and JSEA library is up to date
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to workshop personnel on QHSE/5S practices such as JSEA, Risk Assessments, COSHH, and Pressure Testing best practices
  • Develop and implement 5S and QHSE improvements
  • Provide cover for Onshore Supervisors during absence/leave
  • Assist with any other duties as and when required
Requirements
  • City Guilds, SVQ level 3 in Electronic, Electrical, Mechanical, or Hydraulic Engineering
  • Leadership skills and a proven ability to develop subordinates
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Demonstratable awareness of 5S and lean principles
  • Working at heights experience
  • Overhead crane certification
Desired Qualifications
  • HNC/HND in Electronic, Electrical, or Mechanical or Hydraulic Engineering
  • City and Guilds- Pressure Testing SCQF Level 6
  • Knowledge of subsea XT controls and operations
  • Knowledge of Manifold, Umbilical, and Subsea XT installation operations
  • Incident investigation
  • 5S or Lean Champion
  • IOSH- Managing safely
  • Forklift Truck certification
Working Conditions

The employee may be working indoors or outdoors during the day and occasionally at night. Climatic and environmental conditions at the job site may include indoor and outdoor climate with various noise levels caused by tools, machinery, equipment, etc. This may include an offshore environment where vessel movements may have an effect.

The employee will be required to wear PPE at all times.

Physical Activity/Requirements

The employee is required to stand; walk; handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus. Specific hearing abilities required by this job include hearing all ranges.

This position is considered Medium work.
