About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Behavioural Teaching Assistant to join our team at a prestigious PRU in Leicester City Centre. As a key member of our staff, you will play a vital role in supporting the educational and emotional development of students with SEMH needs and challenging behaviours.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualised support to students, both one-on-one and in small interventions, to help them achieve their full potential.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs, ensuring they receive the best possible support.
  • Support classroom management and promote positive behaviour through consistent and fair SEND practices, creating a safe and inclusive learning environment for all.
  • Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other professionals to create a cohesive and supportive team, ensuring students receive the best possible care.
  • Monitor and record student progress, providing regular feedback to teachers and parents, and participating in staff meetings, training sessions, and professional development opportunities as required.
Person Specification
  • Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs and challenging behaviours, with a relevant qualification in education, childcare, or a related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, resilience, and a positive attitude, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and commit to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
