Key Responsibilities

  • Accountable to the Deputy Estates Manager for the effective delivery of the Future Maritime Support Programme (FMSP) Asset Management function, ensuring stakeholder engagement to ascertain asset requirements.
  • Act as the Intelligent Customer for the Performance and Maintenance function, supporting the Deputy Estates Manager and collaborating with Babcock on the FMSP contract.
  • Ensure compliance with Management Information, reports, and contract deliverables as outlined in the FMSP Statement of Technical Requirement and associated schedules.
  • Conduct audits of maintenance and new works activities to verify contractual compliance and the accuracy of reporting.
  • Collaborate with the Deputy Estates Manager to maintain an accurate Asset Management Register aligned with the Strategic Asset Management Plan.
  • Ensure that all major projects comply with regulatory and legislative requirements, particularly concerning Nuclear Authorisation Conditions.
  • Manage project delivery directly or through Industry Partners to ensure effective execution.
  • Apply industry-standard asset management practices to maintain the integrity of the Naval Base Estate and its target condition.
  • Review asset survey reports to identify maintenance issues and communicate findings to the Deputy Estates Manager.
  • Work with the Integrated Project Team to enhance performance and value for money in maintenance and new works delivery.

Qualifications and Skills

Essential:

  • Level 4 qualification in a maintenance or health and safety discipline, or Level 3 qualification with extensive relevant experience.
  • Membership in a professional project management body and a facilities management or related professional body.
  • A formal health and safety qualification such as IOSH or NEBOSH.
  • A project management qualification such as Prince 2, MSP, or APM (PMQ).

Desirable:

  • Experience in Asset/Facilities Management or a commitment to pursue relevant qualifications within six months of employment.
